What!!! Poisonous Ants Are Used To Punish & Kill Thieves In Bolivia

Two alleged thieves were almost killed by residents of a Bolivian village called Ayopaya last Thursday after they tied them to a tree swarmed with venomous ants for three days as punishment.
According to Bolivian authorities, the 18 and 19 year old men were attacked by an angry mob after they allegedly stole three motorcycles from a village. The villagers of Ayopaya only freed both men from the ants on Saturday after their relatives paid £2,200 as compensation for the motorcycles
Dr. Roberto Paz told reporters in the central Bolivian city of Cochabamba that one of the men remained in intensive care while the other suffered kidney failure and required dialysis.  A sister to one of the men told Radio Fides,
"If we didn't show up, the pair would have been killed by those ants."
According to reports, the poisonous ants are known of the pseudomyrmex triplarinus species and live interdependently with triplaris trees. Their venom, which has anti-inflammatory properties, is used as a traditional treatment for arthritis.
Guys, do you think that was the best punishment for those alleged motorcycle robbers?
