Eye-witnesses said Michael was shot multiple times by officer Wilson as he turned around with his hands up. Wilson claims the teenager rushed at him full speed before he opened fire.

Ebola: FG bans inter-state movement of corpses

 

The National Council on Health has banned   the transport   of corpses and critically ill persons on both local and international routes   with immediate effect.

It said only dead bodies with waivers granted by the Federal Ministry of Health would be transported within and into Nigeria . Such corpses must be conveyed   only   in   ambulances.

To show its seriousness on the movement of corpses, the council advised state governments to enact legislation for   its effective compliance .

Don't think public corruption is the sole province of down-at-the-heels nations such as Somalia, the poorest performer in Transparency International's index of perceived corruption in 176 countries.

The United States doesn't land in the top 10 cleanest countries. It barely lands in the top 20. Among the 18 countries perceived as less corrupt are Japan, Barbados, Iceland and Singapore.

There is corruption in America; the question is where.

A recent report provides an answer. An academic at the University of Hong Kong and another at Indiana University set out to rank the states by level of corruption, combing arrest and conviction records for public officials. Mikesell also reported that states with greater public spending have more corruption -- particularly when the spending is in areas ripe for bribery, like construction, police and highway projects.
"People think corruption doesn't happen here," said Chicago lawyer Sergio Acosta, who used to work in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois. He's a member of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's Ethics Reforms Task Force, which aims to codify appropriate behavior for city employees. "That's the real value of this report."

Things change. They may get better.

While preaching a sermon titled; ‘The yoke-destroyer’ at the on-going annual convention of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), Pastor EA.Adeboye narrated a ministry and life-threatening incident that occurred one time in his life and how it took the grace of God to overcome it.
The general overseer or daddy GO as he is fondly called, told his story of how a Lagos socialite tried to seduce him but escaped with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Drawing inspiration from the bible which tells of some men of God who have undergone similar experiences, he narrated that a high profile woman who was an executive of the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, did everything to seduce him.
According to him, the woman came to him and announced to him that God had told her that he would be her husband, and immediately he rebuked her, saying “you know that I am happily married and have children.”
That didn’t deter the woman who continued to pester him, and even came to the camp to threaten him, saying “if you stand in my way to marrying this man, I will kill you.”
Pastor Adeboye continued his experience, he said he took the matter to then Inspector General of Police who immediately invited the woman and her husband to his office and after a meeting banned the randy woman from entering the Redemption Camp or ever making passes at the man of God.
“But that measure didn’t stop her. I travelled to London without telling anybody, to work on the church’s devotional, Open Heaven. As soon as I settled down in the room, the telephone rang and the voice at the other end said: “welcome to London. I am coming in 15 minutes,” Daddy GO continued.
Continuing, he said he told the voice: “You don’t know anything, you know that the Police in London are very efficient and if you dare come here, I will call the Police for you.” “There is a Police station a few meters from where I am staying and she must have known that because she didn’t come but kept calling me.”
“I cried to God Who told me ‘You know of the scripture that says, whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven.’ Believe me honestly, unless God helps, there are things you cannot handle on your own,” he stated.
After his narration, he urged  the large crowd to stand and pray with holy anger saying : “Anyone hindering my progress, before this month is over, Holy Spirit send down Your fire to consume them”.

Liberian finance ministry employee Patrick Sawyer was found to be infected with the virus when he arrived in Lagos on July 20. He died in quarantine on July 25.

Nigerian Flights Banned From Entering Ghana Over Ebola Outbreak

The spread of Ebola across West Africa has prompted the Ghanaian government to ban flights from 4 countries.
The countries blacklisted are Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
Charles Asare, Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, said the measure was part of a set of emergency management plans officials are rolling out to combat the spread of the virus.
The Ghanaian government has also implemented strict restrictions on the movement and management of Liberian refugees in camps in the country.

Tribe Emerges From Brazilian Jungle Possibly for First Time

The group of men are believed to be natives of Peru but they were filmed in northern Brazil on the banks of the Envira River which runs near the Peruvian border. The encounter took place within the last two weeks, but the video was released Thursday by the Brazilian indigenous authority FUNAI.

The tribal men are naked except for belts and loincloths and carry different weapons, including bows and arrows and spears in the 8-minute video.

A few of the tribal men are seen with markings on their faces and they all have styled their dark black hair in a similar bowl-cut fashion.
