Lion Kills US Tourist In S’Africa Park

An American tourist has been mauled to death in South Africa after a lion jumped into her vehicle through an open window at a park on the outskirts of Johannesburg, police and officials said.
“She was driving with a male person at the park, they were attacked by the lion, she was killed at the park and the man has been taken to hospital,” police spokesman Lungelo Dlamini said on Monday.
Dlamini said he did not have a name for the 22-year-old woman or what part of the United States she was from. Her travelling companion was South African.
The woman died while paramedics tried to save her, Lion Park assistant director of operations Scott Simpson said.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday questioned a former governor of Adamawa State, Admiral Murtala Nyako (retd.), for over six hours in Abuja.

Nyako, who returned to the country from his sojourn overseas on Saturday, was said to have reported at the headquarters of the EFCC as early as 10 am on Monday.

According APF, residents said the Islamists arrived in the Moronti area of the city by river but were unable to advance further because of wide ditches and embankments dug by soldiers around the city limits.

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a man who allegedly defiled his two under-aged biological daughters and two of his nieces, all between 14 and 17 years.

The crime was allegedly committed at Moniya in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.

Though the suspect, a herbalist, denied the incest allegation, saying he was being held for a crime he did not commit, the confessions of the four girls took many people at the state police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan by surprise as they narrated how the father had sex with them at different times.
