ABEOKUTA — Governor Ibikunle  Amosun of Ogun State, yesterday, said he was part of those that aided his predecessor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel to claim indigeneship of Ogun State in 2003.

According to Amosun, Daniel  was  an indigene of Isoko in Delta State, but, requested for assistance from him and some other unnamed persons to get a family house in Sagamu ahead  of his 2003 governorship ambition in the state.

Nigerian Private Jet Seized In SA With $9.3m Might Be Linked To CAN President

Probe by Sahara Reporters revealed that a Nigerian private jet caught in Johannesburg (US registration number N808HG) with $9.3million belongs to Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the head of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Reuters previously revealed that South Africa police started investigation in terms of 2 Nigerians and an Israeli contractor, who was on board trying to illegally bring cash into the country, in what might have been part of an arms deal.
According to the 3 passengers, the money was aimed at buying arms for the Nigerian security.
Sahara Reporters refers to the information allegedly provided by the Nigerian aviation authorities: that one of the jets belonged to Pastor Oritsejafor while the second one was registered to Felix Idiga, the owner of Jafac Aviation Limited.
It was disclosed by the South African source that Oritsejafor’s jet was released after some high-ranked Nigerian officials insisted that the money was approved by the government for purchase of weapons.
It was further revealed that only the Israeli contractor knew the combination locks to all the cases, which were on board.
Mr. Idiga when contacted denied owning the jet involved in the scandal. Pastor Oritsejafor could not be reached for the comments.

Graphic pics: Generator fumes kill man, wife & 3 children in Ikorodu

Generator fumes has killed a man, his wife and all his 3 children in Ipoyewa community of Ikorodu, Lagos. The bodies of the family was discovered by neighbours last Friday September 12th in their home. All five suffocated to death after inhaling fumes from a generator which they'd kept in their room. According to neighbours, the man bought the generator just two days before the unfortunate incident and was afraid it will be stolen if left outside so he kept it inside his 2-room apartment.
 
When the family failed to come out late Friday morning, a neighbour peeped through their window, saw bodies, and alerted others. They broke down the door to discover the horror. And when I say horror, I mean horror. The photos are really graphic so please be warned.

Man allegedly rapes his own daughter

The man you see in this pic is being accused of sexually molesting his own 5 year old daughter (pictured right). This happened in the Italuwo community in Ikorodu Road, Lagos. I don't have much details but according to a source, a neighbour suspected the man was assaulting the little girl and alerted people in the area. When confronted, he denied it but the girl confirmed she'd been molested. He was beaten and taken to the community security post. This pic was taken as he was being interrogated. Details later...

12 Soldiers Who Attacked GOC sentenced to death

A military court sitting in Abuja on Monday found 13 out of the 18 soldiers standing trial for mutiny and other offences guilty.

Twelve of the convicted soldiers were sentenced to death, five were discharged and acquitted while the remaining one was jailed for 28 days with hard labour.

The soldiers had on May 14, 2014 fired shots at the General Officer Commanding the newly created 7 Division of Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Mohammmed, in Maiduguri.

Adamawa University Shuts Down, Fears Impending Boko Haram Attack

The management of Adamawa State University, Mubi, has announced indefinite closure of the institution due to the fear of possible attack from Boko Haram insurgents.
In a statement announced by Malam Hassan Tanko, Acting Registrar of the institution, in Yola on Sunday, 7 September, 2014, in Yola.
The statement, which directed students to go home, stated that the university was closed indefinitely for security reasons.
NAN also reported that some students of the university, told reporters that they were stranded due to residents’ rush to leave the town.
One of the students, who identified himself as Ali, said many commuters were now stranded in the commercial border town due to lack of vehicles.
“The Motor park is now jam-packed with stranded passengers with no vehicle to move them out,” Ali said.
Another resident said: “When the insurgents met me on the road in Michika, they said I should follow them to work for Allah. They asked me to go home and prepare to follow them to fight the cause of Allah but I decided to run and hide.”
A resident of Bazza spoke of how the sect’s fighters stormed the town, “shooting sporadically, using artillery gun and other heavy weapons but from time to time Air Force jets were dropping bombs”.
